Katie + Peter: A Connecticut Seaside Wedding

On a spectacular day on the coast of Connecticut, Katie followed family tradition and married her handsome groom in the same spot her parents and grandparents before her were married, at the head of Stonington harbor, at the Wadawanuck Club. This September afternoon delivered a soft easterly breeze and skies ranging in all shades of blue and gray (and no rain!), perfect for their tented celebration by the sea.

We started at Katie’s Stonington home, where she and her mother and bridesmaids got ready for the day with the help of furry friends Lilly and Tibi. A quick Champagne toast, and we were off to their first look at Stonington’s Old Lighthouse Museum, with views to Fishers Island, Watch Hill and one of Katie and Peter’s favorite spots, Sandy Point.

Peter and his gentlemen got ready in nearby Mystic, and met us down at Stonington Point.

Peter waited for his bride to arrive, and they had a beautiful moment overlooking the blue waters of Little Narragansett Bay before posing for some family photos.

Next stop, the Wadawanuck Club, for ceremony and reception! Lots of happy tears from both our bride and groom, but they held it together for a beautiful ceremony.

The lanterns were lit, and the toasts began. Laughter was the soundtrack for the evening, along with a featured performance by the father of the bride on harmonica, a reprise from his own wedding day at the Wad Club!
