Angela + Doug: New York City winter engagement session

Angela and Doug will be married in the most amazing, creative, heartfelt spot on Cape Cod in May, so for their engagement session, we strayed as far from the boardwalks and sands of the Cape as we could—New York City in winter.

Ducking the barrage of winter storms we had last month, we found a bright, sunny and almost warm day in January to tour New York. This gorgeous couple was also celebrating their one-year engagement anniversary, so they opted for an especially romantic and iconic New York experience–drinks at the Plaza Hotel, followed by a horse and carriage ride through Central Park. When I caught up with them at the Plaza, we did a few photos in the clubby upstairs area, complete with purple, romantic lighting. These two even make purple look good, as you can see in the photos.

The perfect place to warm up in New York? Pastis, a tiny jewel of a place in the meatpacking district, with vintage French decor as stunning as the food. And I loved that they were still serving brunch at 4 p.m. Welcome to NYC! And after Pastis, we  made a stop for elevator rides in a favorite hotel, and then did some touristing in the bright lights of Times Square, including a cameo up on the big screen–can you find our couple on the screen?

Angela and Doug, I had the greatest time with you!

Bring that smile, Angela, and those dashing Ben Affleck looks, Doug, and the amazing sense of humor you both possess, and we are going to have an amazing day in May.

Happy love!

xo, Anna
