Ashley + William: Summer wedding in the vines at Saltwater Farm Vineyard

What a day in the vines it was! Breezy, warm summer weather set the stage for Ashley and Will’s spectacular outdoor vineyard wedding in August. The two met back in 2010, through summer camp friends, began dating a year later, and knew it was meant to be by the end of the summer in 2012.

“I just love how selfless and supportive he is,” says Ashley of her groom.  “For example, during the three years I was in Boston for law school and he was in CT, whenever I was lonely or stressed out, he would drop whatever he was doing and drive up to be with me. It never mattered how short the trip would be.”

The two love traveling (from locations as varied as Nantucket and Disney), and spend a lot of their weekends visiting breweries/wineries in CT and going out to eat. Interesting beers, a signature cocktail and a delicious menu for the wedding were all hallmarks of these food and drink lovers.

Hana Floral created this spectacular bridal bouquet for Ashley in perfect tones of peach, pink and cream.

Ashley and William planned a first look to see each other before the ceremony.

Blue skies and sunshine highlighted their outdoor ceremony officiated by a dear friend. 

Cocktails and dinner by A Thyme to Cook, with a glorious finale of wedding cake by Zest Fresh Pastry in Stonington, CT.

I loved their combination of long farm tables mixed with rounds, plus, I was delighted that Ashley and Will consulted with me for the ideal location for the head table and where NEVER to put the tables!
