Catching leprechauns

What requires an upside-down basket, some string, two baby blankets, three full cups of water, approximately thirty two-inch dinosaurs set up in a VERY SPECIFIC arrangement around the room and a rocking chair? (Actually, make that four full cups of water.)

Traps for leprechauns, of course, according to Will. Didn’t you set any up at your house?

That’s what Will did for the last half hour before bed last night. After arguing with Henry about whether leprechauns are real. Henry (age 2 3/4) says no, Will (age 4 3/4) says YES.

Did the traps work? Well, we didn’t find any little green fellows this morning, but the boys did wake up with leprechaun kisses on their hands (uh, green shamrock stamps and GO US for finding the green stamp pad at 9:30 p.m.).

Maybe we needed more cups of water.

    Awesomeness. But darn you for making me feel like a flop as a mother for not doing ANYthing fun for St. Patty’s Day. Well, I did dye the salmon patties green, but that didn’t go over well!

    That is ADORABLE!

    Since I am in Michigan this week, I spent the better part of an afternoon traipsing around in the woods looking for “leprechaun houses” with Funny Man’s seven-year-old nephew… (Nice to know the magic hasn’t completely left him yet!)

    We found two– one of which came complete with a “tiny lamp and little TV”!! ๐Ÿ˜€

    (LOVE the imaginations of these little guys!)

    I have such fond memories of leprechaun traps from my own childhood. ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry to hear the boys didn’t catch any! I’m surprised the 30 dinosaurs didn’t do the trick. Although the cups of water remind me of the movie Signs.
