December 2012: Ten on Ten

I love this ten on ten project–-a passionate group of lovely and amazing photographers f taking ten images, one hour apart on one day out of the month, documenting life as it happens around them. On the tenth of every month, we post our ten images, and if you follow our links, you’ll make it around the whole circle. Enjoy.

December 9, 2012.

Also known as the first day I did something other than edit or shoot in the 35-ish days since we got power back after Hurricane Sandy. We got our Christmas tree, we hung around the house since it was rainy, we contemplated cooking the swiss chard in the window, (one) boy wrote a letter to Santa, we ate heart-shaped biscuits with soup for dinner, we admired the tree lights…and all was good.

I’m linking to my dear friend Nicki Griffith, Kansas City lifestyle photographer. See her beautiful ten on ten here!

In the meantime, my ten on ten!

I love that he put good in quotes! Will and Ben did the same thing when we cut down the tree…counting the rings. I love that!
I miss you and miss your wonderful world.

It’s beginning to feel like Christmas! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful family day Anna. I dare someone in the 10 on 10 (I know, I need to get my act together and rejoin) to contrast these beautiful images with photos of lugging the tree off the car, leaving a trail of needles through the house, scrubbing AND scrubbing the sap off your hands, struggling with the tree stand as one annoyed household member yells “is it straight?!!”, untangling the Christmas lights that you wish you had put away in a more organized fashion the previous year only to find half of them don’t work, and finally a little spiked egg nog as you sit on the couch admiring the unlit tree, just simply too damned tired to decorate it! Fa La La La!

Oh you are a Clementine household, too! I love that label…so much better than the cuties one.
