What May showers brought

You’ve heard me gripe about all the rainy days we’ve had of late.

You won’t hear me complain about these beauties that have finally emerged.

Lilacs, May 2008

I haven’t downloaded a single photo from my college reunion yet, but I can tell you that:

A) It was wonderful.

B) I had the best of both worlds, because H&W came with Dad for a brief visit to meet some of the far-flung friends, and then went home.

C) The sun came out and stayed out.

D) I saw wonderful friends of a lifetime that live way too far away.

E) Henry ended up in his first time out after all. (I wasn’t there to see it, but apparently 30 seconds on the Naughty Step netted a sheepish and remorseful “sorrrrrrrry!”)

And, I came home to this view:

It’s good to be home.

So jealous of your lilac…Mine are over and done with, and I am still clinging to hope that my very sad Charlie Brownesque yellow one will take off one day. However, the front is overrun with lilly of the valley so I guess I’ll be OK

Beautiful shots! Spring is starting to emerge here, too, and the flowers are so pretty to see after such a long winter and cold spring.

Glad you had fun at your reunion – sounds like it was a lot of fun!

My college had a reunion last weekend too, but not for my class year. I guess a lot of schools do that, with the whole graduation thing and whatnot.

The photos, as always, are gorgeous!

Connecticut is in full bloom right now, too, and it’s wonderful (aside from my seasonal allergies that are throwing a party in my nose this week). Enjoy this weather!!

You, like your friend Martha, will have to come to Rochester in May for the lilac festival. I am longing for lilacs and have stolen them out of yards near our apartment. I have no shame, it’s survival. Beautiful pictures!
