These two NYC-dwellers clicked over a mutual appreciation for Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa) and decided to meet up for drinks in December 2013. Nathaniel got sick so that turned into hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows at City Bakery in NYC…but lo and behold there were no marshmallows that day. Not to worry–they’ve returned many times, and were engaged there, so they have since enjoyed the marshmallows. Despite their disparate backgrounds (He’s a Red Sox fan, she’s a die-hard Yankees fan), they soon melded into a meant-for-each-other couple, loving travel, food, wine, friends and family together in their warm and lovely way.
With family spread out in New England, New York and beyond, the couple chose picturesque Mystic for their wedding. Becca and Nathaniel picked the classic New England Inn at Mystic for their spring wedding ceremony and reception. With a damp forecast afoot, the team at the Inn made everything work under the tent, but we got a perfectly timed five-hour stretch of blue skies (and sunshine!) as the ultimate bonus for these two.
But enough talk–time for a photo preview! Enjoy this lovely spring wedding on the shoreline.
Something old and something new…Becca’s necklace and Nathaniel’s new suit.
As the bride and her bridesmaids got ready, we watched the swath of blue sky grow and grow.
Becca wore her mother’s veil for her bridal portraits and for the ceremony.
An emotional and happy first look, then we headed into photos for these two. Look, no rain!
